In response to the devestating effects of Hurricane Helene, Asheville First Church of the Nazarene is currently open every Monday and Wednesday from 12 - 2pm as a supply distribution point for those in need in their area. As of October 26 they had served over 5,000 individuals with hundreds continuing to come each day they are open. There are two ways you can help.

  1. Purchase needed supplies from their Amazon list. Items purchased through the link below are shipped directly to Asheville First.

  2. Volunteer. As you can imagine, church members there are tired and have been serving their neighbors as they navigate their own challenges. Reach out directly to discover opportunities to help.

Volunteering with Mercy Chefs

Mercy Chefs is a faith-based, non-profit disaster and humanitarian relief organization. They exist to provide professionally prepared, restaurant-quality meals to victims, volunteers and first responders in natural disasters and emergencies, and they partner with existing like-minded organizations to further their mission by providing food service in underserved communities across the country and around the globe.

Mercy Chefs continues to prepare and distribute thousands of meals daily in Asheville. Click the link below to volunteer to help with a morning or afternoon shift. Volunteers much be age 15 and up.
